Maruti has launched the new BS-6 version S-Cross petrol variant. The much-awaited vehicle was revealed during the Auto Expo 2020. Maruti had earlier decided to launch S-Cross in March 2020. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the launch, delaying the arrival of one of the most awaited models from Nexa. The discontinuation of the Maruti S-Cross diesel variant has been distressing for many vehicle enthusiasts. The arrival of the Maruti S-Cross petrol variant is expected to fill the void left by the diesel version.
Designed with the utmost care, S-Cross has a sophisticated appearance, without reducing a bit in its aggressive features. The Chrome-plated vertical grille slats, roof rails, projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights to give it an elegant look and feel. S-Cross is installed with dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. The black cladding, silver faux skid plates, and side skirts are to be retained from the previous version. A 1.5litre petrol engine powers S-Cross. The gearbox options will be having 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission. A mild-hybrid version is also expected, which will be limited to automatic variants. The K15B petrol engine will have a maximum power of 103 BHP will give a peak torque of 138Nm and mild hybrid with the power of 112 BHP and will have a peak torque of 134Nm. It will be available in five colour options, viz. Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Granite Grey, Premium Silver, and Caffeine Brown.

S-Cross base version is expected to be priced around 9 lakhs, ex-showroom. Of late, Maruti has been focussing on delivering better safety features in their vehicles.
